Conflict Resolution Services

 Ms. Patricia E. LaTaille

“Facilitating mutually-agreeable solutions

through collaborative alternative dispute resolution”

I am pleased to offer my services as a Professional Mediator and Conflict Consultant in Chaffee and Saguache counties. Mediation and conflict coaching lead to a more collaborative, less adversarial approach to resolving conflict.

Mediation is an effective alternative dispute resolution option in cases of:

  •  Divorce or Legal separation
  • Workplace conflicts or Employer – Employee disagreements
  • Medical claims issues or Doctor – Patient disputes
  • Real estate contracts
  • Business or Customer Service complaints
  • Contractor – Customer contractual disagreements

My approach to addressing conflict is based on the Collaborative Facilitative Interest-based model – empowering parties to reach positive self-determined solutions. I utilize Non Violent Communication in each mediation session as the means to “get to the heart of the matter” and work from a place of truth and authenticity.  My extensive training in conflict mediation and non-violent communication works with a variety of populations.

Focusing on the feelings and attempting to meet the needs of each party through an impartial and supportive process leads to greater satisfaction and financial savings in resolving difficult issues.

My professional and personal backgrounds are varied and well-suited to the level of experience and responsibilities that offering mediation services and conflict coaching entail. With a graduate degree in Communications, twenty years of experience in working with high-risk adolescents and families, and currently the lead facilitator in Victim-Offender conferences for Full Circle Restorative Justice, I am now incorporating my skills into a private conflict resolution practice.

Our initial 30 minute consultation is free of charge, and I do offer a need-based sliding scale for payment of fees.

I look forward to serving your conflict resolution needs now and/or in the future.

Would you be willing to consider a paradigm shift?  Instead of responding to conflict with “I need to hire an attorney! “, try: “I need to find a mediator ASAP!”

Stay positive and promote peace.

Patty LaTaille is now offering Mediation and Conflict Consulting, having received her certification in mediation in April 2011 from Colorado Springs-based
Phoenix Strategies, Inc. (PSI). PSI is a mediation services and
conflict management training institution, with the private School of
Collaboration, approved and regulated by the Colorado Department of
Higher Education, Private Occupational School Board.  All dispute
resolution services and training are based on the Collaborative
Mediator Model, uniquely designed by PSI and approved by the US
Patent and Trademark Office Registry.

As the executive director of Full Circle Restorative Justice (FCRJ),
Patty facilitates Victim – Offender conferences enhanced by using
Non Violent Communication (NVC), in which Restorative Circles are
held; designed to hold the offender accountable, empower the victim to
be heard as part of the justice process, and to restore harmony in the
community. She leads weekly Compassionate Communication study groups
for the community and is an NVC instructor for offenders in the Chaffee County Detention Facility.

Patty LaTaille began her certification process in Non Violent
Communication at a 10-day International Intensive Training in
Nonviolent Communication in 2008. Patty continued her in training and
completed the Compassionate Leadership 2010  Program (CL 10)*, an
8-month program which provides intermediate and advanced Non Violent
Communication (NVC) learning opportunities, led by an international
training team.

Patty’s professional background revolves around social work and
writing in various capacities. She is currently the Youth Program
Director of Action Adventure Opportunities (AAOpps), a mentor for
Chaffee County Mentors Plus and manages to write occasionally.

She obtained an undergraduate degree in Sociology from the State University of New York at Cortland and a graduate degree in Journalism and Mass
Communications from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She has a
number of published works in corporate and non-profit publications,
regional newspapers and magazines, and in Chicken Soup for the Working
Woman’s Soul.

Patty welcomes the opportunity to provide mediation services to
individuals seeking a cooperative process for conflict resolution.

Professional Disclaimer: Please note that in my capacity as a conflict consultant or mediator, I can provide information and help “coach” individuals through the conflict resolution process, but I do not provide legal advice. Thank you for acknowledgement.

Peace, Patty
